Who are you ?I am Miguel Carrizo, journalist and digital content creator. Asturian, traveler and adventurer! |
|
What was your professional background?
I have always been changeable, first I studied law, then I got a degree in journalism. I worked as an editor at El País and from there I moved to theater with Juan Carlos Corazza. Four years later, I started a blog that led me to where I am today! I write travel stories for Condé Nast Traveler and create content for different brands.
Of all the things you do, what represents you the most?
To travel. That's what I appreciate the most! I would spend all my money on plane tickets!
Your family is very important to you, how do you reconcile your work with it?
We are very close, we always talk to each other through the family group, we see each other on weekends, we go on trips... I even take my siblings and my mother to some of my jobs. We like each other! We spend good times together. Of course, we argue too... haha.
Tell us about your favorite place in the world, what makes it so special?
It sounds a bit ridiculous to say that my favorite place in the world is my land, my home... but it is. Maybe I could say my favorite place in the world is nature, whatever it is. Iceland is the country that struck me the most with its beauty.
How did you build it?
I built it with a lot of effort, love and passion. I always dream of improving myself and taking on new challenges.
A song you listen to every day?
Any Nina Simone or Bob Marley song.... Right now, Mood Indigo.
Where can we find you in Madrid?
In Madrid you can always find me at Bar Josefita in Calle Valverde, Casa Jaguar, El Camoatí, Ana la Santa... these are some of my favorite restaurants! Stroll through El Retiro or visit the book stalls on La Cuesta de Moyano.
Your must-see visits in Asturias?
Asturias itself is a paradise, just take the car and get lost! The eastern part is my favourite, all the beaches in the Llanes area... and of course, Los Picos de Europa!
What are the three products that are never missing in your toiletry bag when you go on a trip?
Face gel, eye cream and vitamin C.
Your first gesture of self-care when you wake up?
I wash my face with calendula gel.
And the last one before going to bed?
A little moisturizer, Quinque, the most natural I've found so far!
